I missed this several weeks ago, but the incredible stopped by our Participation + Engagement class to discuss (and show!) facilitation for healing and collaboration. We also got to trial his Place-It model. It was an incredibly inspiring day!

I also thought that LA's Greyhound bus should be at Union Station.
Quote Tweet
Nobody seemed to notice this, but I did - @GreyhoundBus has officially closed its station on 1716 E 7th St in Los Angeles, in a now gentrified Arts District, and has moved to the LA Union Station bus plaza, bay 8.

I meet Mike Davis in 1992 when I took his seminar at SCI-Arch. I handed him my freshly written thesis on how Latinos use space in East Los Angeles. He loved it and said it was LA's 5th Ecology.

Damn looks like Telegraph is pretty underutilized by drivers, maybe it's time to give the space to people who will actually use it

Intergrating nature with light rail stations, creates diverse shade opportunities and attracks birds. This station is so cool, comfortable and relaxing dispite the heat. @kamperpants

William Leiper's Victorian Gothic factory of 1892 for James Templeton was modelled on the Doge's palace in Venice. Templeton was told that any factory at such a prominent spot must enhance the area. I think Leiper met the brief.

Our role is to shift public perception, attitudes, and behaviors that accept traffic deaths as an acceptable outcome of the transportation system through sensory based community engagement. #PlaceIt

Horrible Idea. I have seen these awning from the 1960 buildings and they never work.
Quote Tweet
They're just renders but I've never seen an apartment block that looks like this. The louvers and massive canopies are great but I'm guessing it only costs $145,000 per unit because there isn't any insulation or HVAC — which means it would only be safe near the ocean, not inland
