I have to say I didn’t realise that we haven’t been going to court, earning money and having justice continue so that we could bring back horse racing. Still, am glad it’s all been worth it.

“And that’s the surprise tie of the round, the match up many expected as the final,” the commentator ruminates as Trevor and Tony pull “those shielding” and “can go out Monday” from the bag.

Trevor Brooking rummages in the bag before pulling out a ball. “Horse racing” he announces before putting it in the tray. “Horses racing...” Boris repeats as we hear the sounds of Tony Adams swirling the balls around “Will return on...” Adams looks at his ball. “Monday”

Very glad to hear it. Credit to Andrew for the apology and credit to you for your characteristic graciousness.

If you are thinking about entering the legal profession slightly later in life come listen to the experience of others that have done the same.

1. It was a joke 2. Obviously 1 3. Actually the issues facing dentistry are far greater than the need for dentists. This is something about which I have reason to have a little personal knowledge. The Govt just saying that dentists can open doesn’t mean they can 4. Also see 1

I am wondering if the easing of lockdown is being done like the FA Cup draw. Johnson holds a drawstring bag for Trevor Brooking to draw out a ball that says “dentists” and then Tony Adams dips in and pulls out “8th June”.

1/ This line in Trump’s tweet: “when the looting starts, the shooting starts”... is a quote from Miami Police Chief Walter Headley In Dec 1967, months before riots at GOP Convention in Miami, Headley used that quote to announce “get tough” policy for policing black neighborhoods

And finally the question is how many deaths and cases would there be without the public health measures in place?

You don’t get much “mild” flu when people go to work whilst still infected. If public health measures are not taken the infection rate is much higher which can then also have other knock on effects which are not just linked to death of the “vulnerable”.

Flu and coronavirus have a different R rate. Flu is controlled to a certain extent by vaccine. Covid isn’t. So other measures have to be taken. If coronavirus takes hold it will infect at a greater rate. The period of time when you are asymptomatic is different.

Let’s take it slowly. Your first use of the graph for Scotland was to make the point that you hoped that the Tweeter was happy to stay in all winter. That is a bad point and a poor use of that data. For a start the person has a different choice - get vaccinated.

A viral contagion with wholly different R rates and which have been met with a different response due to the availability of a vaccine. Just comparing things cos you can catch them and they can kill you is the essence of why this is wholly misleading.
