Lots of women in New Zealand are wearing headscarves today to show support for the Muslim community

We see it as a show of support which is admirable. However, Have there been any similar shows of support by the Muslim Community by way of direct involvement in Christian practices when radical islamic terrorists have waged attacks on Christians?

I understand their empathy but this is the wrong way to express it. Show we care for the person, not the false religion or oppressive scarves forced on women.

Are ties for men in western culture oppressive? High heels for women? Some sections of our culture make these mandatory

Not sure how ties and high heels compare with instruments of delusional and fascist ideology. Problem with thinking I've always found is a nativity based on lack of life experience and historical knowledge.

Are you so buried in history that you can’t see magic of the present moment in NZ? Astounding goodwill and harmony amongst the hatred. Simply amazing

Total insanity, maybe craziness. I am so happy I have not moved there years ago, and even more happy New Zealand is not part of Australia. And they should not let into in the future, either.

Do these people actually know the meaning of the headscarf??? That’s an offense to those women suffering in countries like Iran. The headscarf is an indication of oppression of women. Wearing it is an insult to those who try to seek freedom.

Being a Sky News tweet it's not surprising that most of the responses are knee-jerk outrage. I'm not comfortable with scarf wearing as a sign of solidarity, but sometimes a small step backwards for a far greater good is well worth it.
