We call on to cancel the deportation of up to 50 people to Jamaica. “Deportations are inhumane and discriminatory at any time, but in the middle of a pandemic and during a lockdown, they are a breathtakingly unfeeling act.”

Feminist-led Finland to join Ireland, Iceland, Norway and Denmark in introducing a self-declaration system of gender identity..... another reminder twitter does not always reflect the real world!

I see has noticed Brits are "peculiarly unusual" in going to work when sick. We're also "peculiarly unusual" in having the lowest sick pay in the OECD. Coincidence? It's hard to watch govt blaming people for working when sick, rather than fixing the reasons for it.

A very blunt answer from a senior NHS Scotland figure on whether easing restrictions at Christmas will cost lives. “Absolutely,” she tells , “those are facts.”

The real question about Christmas-> do you want to expose the people you love to this virus? Do you want to be responsible for the virus spreading at your home, or as a guest in someone else's? If you don't, be cautious. Don't need govt to tell you that. It's common sense.

Thank you everyone that watched, shared & sent messages of support. So proud of the team behind Lament for Sheku Bayoh. I would ask you to stand with the Bayoh family as they continue their fight for answers. Don't let them stand alone. Say his name.

Excellent! 16 and 17 year olds were given the vote in Scotland in 2014. I toured schools that year doing debates, and was consistently met with informed, thoughtful and engaged young people, taking on big questions about their future. Young people deserve a voice and a vote.

Still silence from the music industry from those taking part in the re-named Brexit festival. It's a festival of optics. They will benefit in perceived progressiveness & added legitimacy from every name added to the line up. they couldn’t care less what participants end up doing.
