Hong Kong is *literally* the model for capitalist countries outperforming adjacent autocracy and collectivism, both on economic performance and political freedom.

I personally would support getting rid of exclusionary rule if and only if at same time as getting rid of QI; realign incentives for law enforcement. But I haven’t done nearly as much research and thinking on this as my criminal justice colleagues, to whom I defer on these things

Also, states don’t have rights. They have powers. Talking about “states’ rights” is both legally inaccurate and needless hearkens to Jim Crow.

It’s the 15th Amendment that supports the VRA. Totally supported Section 5 too, when it was first passed. But, thankfully, not now.

I don’t think I ever had a problem with Radley’s long-form work—great stuff about police abuse and why we need criminal justice reform—but some of his tweets leave a lot to be desired.

Socialism is the philosophy of “give me stuff for free.” Capitalism is the philosophy of “what can I give you that you want more than something you have that I want.” Socialism is self-regarding Capitalism is other-regarding

Afraid that in my house the vote on your tweet is 2-2. (At least I think the little guy was in your favor because the cheese was the only thing he didn’t throw off his tray.)

Outrageously false claims such as that the American Revolution was fought to keep the British from ending slavery or that slavery was the cause of the the American industrial juggernaut is nothing but clickbait -- the thing that has replaced journalism in 2019.

This is bunk. We should absolutely study slavery (and post-slavery African-American) history and learn from it. But we shouldn’t pretend that this is America’s be-all and end-all, or that the Founding (let alone the Second Founding) was a white-supremacist project.

What he’s saying is indistinguishable from the . That’s it: the idea that the America is a lie, the Constitution (incl 14th Am) a lie, a white-supremacist charade that has not and cannot be redeemed bc of slavery. At least, that’s what I get from argumentation.

Nobody has yet to tell me (not that they need tell me; I’m just a think tanker) which originalist/textualist women/racial minorities are being overlooked. (And of course when they’re picked, full-scale assault from the left because betraying their supposed identitarian group.)
