Me: I'm a web development student. Person 1: Can you change the voice of my Siri? Person 2: Oh so you can stay home with your kids? Person 3: But like, what company hires web developers? Where would you work?

Learned, not learnt. This has been a public service announcement brought to you by an English major who flinches every time she reads the latter. Please and thank you.

The way that Brad explained it, there is already a Sinatra::Request class and request objects. So by making another Request class, and another request object, the new was attempting to overwrite the existing class/object that are necessary for Sinatra to work.

Gus turned 22 months old today, which means two things: 1) He's turning two in two months. 2) We'll be living in Colorado in a month... ...yep. Currently have almost no plan for that transition, but hey, we're a former military family, so we're flexible.

AH HA! Thanks to of the , my Sinatra project controller issue has finally been resolved! It turns out you can't have a Sinatra model named Request...yikes.

Spent the past three days unsuccessfully trying to debug one of my project controllers (with help). 🙃🙃🙃 I have three working controllers and two working CRUDs, so I'm calling it and submitting it without the fourth controller. Maybe Rails will bring me enlightenment.

Got my hand licked by two doggos as I was walking in the coffee shop. It's gonna be a good day.

Thank you Avi for saying that "copy & pasting code is THE WHOLE IDEA". I always thought it was cheating but I just copied & pasted 100+ lines of "regular Ruby", deleted 26 identical method parameters, added a few @'s, wrapped it all in a class/end. Instant OOP!

We're still not over our excitement for Ries' he accepted on Friday. So he wrote a short post about it, and it includes a rare family photo.

Killing it! We have a similar story! My husband told me he wanted to go back to grad school (for UX Design / Research) when I was eight months pregnant, and we moved when our little guy was two months old. I started Flatiron a year later and we have ZERO REGRETS.
