My vial of insulin is about the same price of a nintendo switch lmfao. Imagine having to buy a NINTENDO SWITCH every month. I only use 1 vial. Some people use SIX!!! SIX NINTENDO SWITCHES EVERY MONTH TIL YOU DIE I don’t know why I’m making this comparison!!! It’s 11PM!!!!!

Ok I’m muting this. But before I go... Analogue insulin is being price gouged in the USA. UNRIGHTFULLY. It is $6 to produce. Its formula is 20+y/o. In other countries, it’s $30 or less. Here are the facts. Source: Dr Rajkumar Mayo Clinic

Just going to leave this here before I head to bed tonight so people will stop sliding in my DMs telling me “how to get off insulin.” 😐

Ok also just putting this out there: I am not currently in need of any insulin donations. I stated in the thread I am still on my parent’s insurance and can rely on them. ❤️ I never said in my tweet that I was in need! But many people are rationing. 🙁 Thanks for your concerns!

Might not be accurate but I saw someone saying that you can get it for $27 at Costco

That’s a different kind of insulin. It’s an older formula called human insulin. The expensive type everyone is talking about is analog (or synthetic) insulin. Human insulin is veeeery different and many people have died trying to use it.

Yes I do I’m on my parent’s insurance still as a married 23y/o. That’s diabetes for ya. 🙄 But no, it’s not that much w/ insurance. I’m tweeting ab list price. But we have paid list price MANY times since my diagnosis in 2011. My parents are self-employed, deductible around $9k

couldnt insulin be ordered overseas for cheaper? l heard it was made with genes in yeast, diy insulin doses but its sold cheap as something else like a magic potion instead of medicine to bypass " health regulations "🐍💰

There are 3 manufacturers. 2 of them are foreign companies. They all sell insulin in almost every country around the world. The problem is, all of those other countries have laws that do not let manufacturers charge whatever they want. We don’t have those laws in the USA.
