I actually think Glenn's work on his thought has liberated much of its potential as a heuristic. I've found it immensely practical & part of the podcast project has been the dissemination of its insights. And, yes, I can see the link & vaguely recall it being made before.

So true! But we can do better, right? It's an odd choice of his too, especially as the concepts he employs are actually potentially, highly practical and straightforward, but then he is a French intellectual...& may want to hide the simplicity of his conclusions :)

Decision is a concept of how we operate from ideology as a captured subject. I've spoken about it on the podcast several times as has Glenn.

Lucky you: you have a nice intellectual adventure ahead of you if you're interested. Francois Laruelle & his non-philosophy, or go to it via Glenn Wallace's non Buddhism and his speculative non Buddhism heuristic, which you can find in free pdf format through a Google search.

Considering the impossibility of remaining static, we must accept that we are either becoming less ignorant, reinforcing & bolstering our existing ignorance, or acquiring new means for further nuances of ignorance. or

Most folks would benefit from simply reading, and then reading slowly, reflectively, and deliberately.

"Ideological capture" indeed, or thinking (unthinking) from Decision if were to employ a Laurellian term.
