You get it on the touch bar, but it's laggy and not as responsive as an actual key. It takes about 1sec to switch from edit mode to stand-by mode

A real mechanical keyboard and a real un-mighty mouse or any device. They are a great Media/entertainment/home machine, that's for sure, but for tech work, I don't think there's anything better than Linux. You're better off using Ubuntu, try other distros and

I use vim for almost everything, so Esc key is a must have, you get it on the touch bar but it's a bit laggy, it's not as responsive as an actual key. The keyboard feels like a toy, only one type of port so you need a lot of adapters if you want a second screen

Well, system updates potentially break developer tools, package manager works half way sometimes and you need to do some workarounds with symlinks, Homebrew is painfully slow (although the intention is good), the touch bar on the 2018 models harms productivity
