How can the free market solve the housing crisis when the free market caused it?

A free market all except for planning regulations, quantitative easing, sub-normal interest rates, Funding for Lending, HelpToBuy etc etc. Supply rigged downwards and demand rigged upwards by the state deliberately for political ends.

Because there is no such thing as a free market and never can be, nonsense utopian thinking and worse the closer you get the more it will destroy us.

If that's your opinion then that's fine. You can't blame the housing crisis on the free market if the free market doesn't exist. If you think the interventions I've mentioned haven't worsened the housing crisis then I beg to differ.

I said there was no such thing, never has been never will be 'a free market' as it's nonsense as markets are a human construct. You might as well say to solve the housing crisis we need dragons.its as realistic.

Yes, fine. The tweet that I replied to was blaming the free market for the housing crisis. I was pointing out that the housing market is anything but free. You don't believe free markets exist so they can't possibly be to blame for the housing crisis.

That's fair. The solution isn't there though either.

It appears that the original tweeter agrees with you that free markets don't exist so his/her position is that free markets are to blame for the housing crisis, even though they don't exist. At this point, I'll call it a day.
