A most enjoyable w/e at Benslow with 14 very enthusiastic bass clarinettists who happily played all sorts of music thrown at them ranging from Pergolesi to Captain Beefheart in a full choir and small groups including 2 world premieres. Splendid people. Congrats to them all.

Well, I'd better find my tartan troos and hope they still fit. Why do I never get royalties? Many years ago I did used to get fan mail and invitations, tho I'm not sure bass clarinet or hair cut would have cut it in the band.

A highly concentrated and rewarding rehearsal day revisiting Philip Grange's sextet Shifting Thresholds written for Gemini to mark his 60th birthday and an almost 30 year relationship. The Gemini players terrific as ever. Bodes well for the recording in January. Exciting prospect
