Hey. Can someone teach a certain internet mega millionaire some astronomy? Because actually Elon Musk your Starlink satellites are going to destroy the sky.

Teaching is a two-way street. You can't teach someone who doesn't want to learn. โ˜น

Hereโ€™s one example of how visible the Starlink satellites currently are, even looking directly past street lights:

How is it going to destroy the sky? Not being defensive, I'm just intrigued as to what effects they will cause other than just adding more 'stuff' in orbit?

Free? These things are not wifi - they use Ka and Ku radio frequencies - to use, will need special kit and a subscription - it's not cheap to put up 12,000 satellites. There are cheaper ways to get the internet to far-flung places

I am typically on Team Elon, but I can't be excited about this. The idea is good, but the execution is bad, and I'm afraid what our skies will look like when this whole thing is done.

Itโ€™s inevittable.. we will become a multiplanetary species.. And that comed with more rocketlaunches an more satellites. If you think itโ€™s a good thing doesnโ€™t matter. Just like someone in 1920 wasnโ€™t wrong about there were too many cars. But you can book a hotel on the moon

So you telling me that building a global communication network to reach and enable billions of remote people access to the internet is a selfish thing of Musk? It's going to improve the lives of billions, yet you cant see.
