Any thoughts on how you vet integrity?

Put another way - the best way to get a job doing X is to *start* doing it *now* for free!
It shows that you're *actually* that interested, while simultaneously proving that your *actually* competent.
The easiest person for me to hire is someone who is already doing the job.

Q: "How do I get a job doing <X> at <tech company>?"
When hiring, I look for 2 things:
- are you already motivated by my problems?
- are you capable of solving my problems?
Strategy: make a Blog/Github showing how to solve my problems!!!
It proves both motivation & ability!

We have a handcrafted version of it working but it’ll be a bit slower until the new torch script integration is done (few days)

Here's a lecture by Andrew Trask (@iamtrask) on privacy-preserving AI as part of the MIT Deep Learning lecture series. Preserving privacy boosts our ability to do science at a large-scale and to engineer intelligent systems that learn from data: youtube.com/watch?v=4zrU54… pic.twitter.com/1jshZWpoJ9

IMO, this is the best work I've ever read on AI & Human Values
Highly recommended read for everyone in the #AI field
It's a dense read - but push through.
You'll be glad you did.

If you want to learn about privacy-preserving machine learning, then there is no better resource than this step-by-step notebook tutorial by @iamtrask.
From the basics of private deep learning to building secure ML classifiers using PyTorch & PySyft.

(Background: lived on a boat for the last 3 years - the process for such things is not so automatic and NOT having to deal with it anymore is probably the best thing about living on land)

Commercial Encyclopaedia -> @Wikipedia
Commercial Software -> @github
Commercial AI -> ????
Intelligence has a history of becoming free on the internet.
AI will be no different.

i.e. - pick your favorite intelligence service - if an AI can do it - why can't someone (anyone) upload a reasonably good model to the internet for free?

How about a wikipedia version of skin cancer detection?
As in:
Encyclopedia is to @Wikipedia as
Enterprise Software is to Open Source (@github) as
<Intelligence Service> is to Open Mined AI 😉

Also - society still pays for many things. Just because we've become used to the illusion that the internet is free (an illusion we actually pay a *premium* for), doesn't mean we can't learn to do otherwise. :)
