Basecamp is one of those software companies positioned both ethically and financially, who can take on the big cos and build a parallel product suite. Think email, collab(Basecamp), calendar, and storage from basecamp - what a sane world would that be. twitter.com/dhh/status/122…

This might sound very generic, but use whatever that fits into your workflow or makes you more productive.
I've seen people trying hard to use CLIs because they look cooler.
For instance, I've started doing a lot of git stuff from VSCode that I used to do with a CLI.

When reaching out to people via Twitter(or elsewhere) don't just send a "Hi" or a generic message. Your response rate will be very less. Introduce yourself, be specific and ask for what you are looking for.
This should be obvious, but like many obvious things, it actually isn’t.

Well, I was laid off this morning.
I am currently looking for full time work in Tulsa as a Web Developer or similar function, open to marketing jobs as well. Willing to work remotely. If you know or hear about anything please let me know.
Thank you!

Finished reading the shoe dog today. This stuck with me.

I don't write tests when the product is at the MVP stage. The feature I'm building might be gone after a month or so.
If the product is stable I don't see any reason not to write tests.

I'm a fan of OSS. Recently friends at @chatwootapp had great success with this. But for us the bottleneck was not software related, it was purely operational. And from an engineering perspective, it is basic CRUD + some complicated payment integrations/math + our dashboard

Agree! We knew this was going to be a complex problem to solve even when we took this up and was ready for it.
