Desiring God
If you don’t fight lust, you won’t go to heaven. Not that saints always succeed. The issue is that we resolve to fight, not that we succeed flawlessly. We don’t make peace with sin. We make war.
If you don’t fight lust with a seriousness that is willing to gouge out your own eye, you will go to hell and suffer forever.

The Father sent Jesus full of truth & grace, 100% in both directions. Or is not an option. Go too far in either direction & you end up in the ditch of legalism or permissiveness. We can’t “fight” sin w/o the Holy Spirit living inside us. It’s an exchanged life to battle flesh.

The punishment should not be used as a threat for one to make things right with God. Otherwise, that's just abiding to a law. Our response towards lust or any other sin is a manifestation of how we view God and a reflection of our relationship with Him.

More than being in hell, I think the motivation should be we are hurting a loving, holy God when we give in to lust.

For those saying ‘heresy’ and ‘blasphemy’, did you actually read the article? Dr Piper is reiterating the teaching of Jesus. If you allow lust free reign in your life, it will lead to destruction and ultimately hell. It’s entirely biblical.
