Iran crackdown on internet connectivity is a significant indicator of how widespread is (or could get) in the eyes of IR authorities, trying to stop the protestors from communicating to each other, and blocki them from publishing videos of crowds or clashes with security forces.

very rare to see such a consensus among Iranian twitter sphere: most of the users outraged by overnight announcement of new fuel prices. users highlighting this tweet by Rouhani from 4y ago that rationed pricing system for gasoline "would've brought corruption so we stopped it."

Iran gov just announced on the wknd midnite local time: gasoline price tripled to 30000﷼Rials($0.25) per liter, AND rationing is back: for up to 60 liters/month per car, it's 15000﷼/liter. It was 10000﷼ before the recent jump. Rouhani admin had promised to not raise the price.

significant jump in gasoline prices could be the most consequential announcement by Rouhani admin, after the nuclear deal - and even comparable to that. The Iranian twitter-sphere is already on fire in upset reactions to the decision --- and it's 1:30 AM local time.
