If the weight you’ve put on the Article II vesting clause has led you to conclude the President can betray the nation and keep it secret from Congress, can’t be prosecuted, can conceal evidence of his crimes from the impeachment process, etc., you’ve proved it’s too much weight.

It’d be more honest to call it monarchism at this point.

Unitary executive absolutists have conducted an in-real-life reductio to absurdity with this presidency, putting the officeholder beyond any conceivable accountability to the other branches of our three branch government, but they’re still not admitting their premises are wrong.

I sat through those hearings. Brett Kavanaugh lied to the U.S. Senate and most importantly to the American people. He was put on the Court through a sham process and his place on the Court is an insult to the pursuit of truth and justice. He must be impeached.

Really shocked that Trump doesn't think a strong black woman like has "the 'It factor'" for cable news. This is what Trump's state news, Fox, considers "the 'It factor'" for female broadcasters. Anyone notice a pattern?

🔥🔥🔥 Speaking truth to power, NOAA’s acting chief scientist Craig McLean slams his agency’s cowardly Friday night statement about Dorian and Alabama. May a Craig McLean emerge in every agency. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Honestly I'd have thought authoritarianism had to be more advanced before officials started changing weather forecasts to avoid contradicting dear leader.

The president of the United States appears to have lost his marbles, putting it mildly.

If official communications from agencies that work towards ensuring public safety has to change based on the demands of a mentally ill president we have strayed far from what made this country great.

It is an extremely important line because the president misinformed the public about the path of the hurricane and then followed up by having the apparatus of the federal government support his dishonesty. This is appalling.

Perhaps the darkest day ever for leadership. Don’t know how they will ever look their workforce in the eye again. Moral cowardice.

Because the gaslighting is getting real strong now, and it's all too easy to start questioning reality, here is every forecast cone ever drawn by the NHC for . Plus an arbitrarily-chosen state labeled.

For no reason at all, let me just note that in previous presidential administrations there were actually officials who -- when ordered to do something they considered illegal or unwise or just plain embarrassing -- *didn't* do it. They resigned instead and kept their dignity.

Let me assure you the hard working employees of the NWS had nothing to do with the utterly disgusting and disingenuous tweet sent out by NOAA management tonight

So how long before Trump can get an agency to state global warming is a hoax.

Disturbing. Giving cover to the lies of the deranged wannabe authoritarian in office is now more important to government agencies than giving the public correct info. The president is corrupting these institutions to help him obliterate the notion of truth distinct from his will.

The thin line separating the United States government from, say, the Soviet Union's, is that in the Soviet Union it would have been the NOAA saying "We were wrong: Hurricaine Dorian does threaten Alabama, and here's the map to prove it"

Conservatives are in a constant state of hysteria over mostly imagined Democratic malfeasance, while Democrats are apathetic at actual heinous Republican malfeasance. What is wrong with them? They should be giving fiery denunciations of the multitude of wrongs that are happening.
