Okay GNOMEies. What's the easiest way to breakpoint when a GObject gets unref'd with a refcount of 1 -- i.e. one before it's finalized? TIA!

Why do we have to write code at all? For those of us who push to GitHub there thousands of commits to choose from! I'd also prefer to see the way a person resolved an issue, or how they debugged a problem before opening an bug rather than watching them squirm under pressure.

I've pinged them already. I need a contact in their firmware QA team really. I don't think Linux (or government sales) is a huge priority for them. They're also not an odm to the big three. 🙁

You can have my slides from osfc.io if that helps too. If you want me to present to customers or internally just ask! 🙂

I think socializing doesn't come naturally to some people. I'm certainly guilty of overthinking how to approach certain topics.

I think to "sell" anything you need to talk to people. Even introverts have to push themselves out of their comfort zone. It's very difficult to achieve great things hiding behind a screen. (From someone who would rather hide...)

Guilty as charged. I give a talk, meet hundreds of people, then hide in a hotel room to "recharge"...

At my recent security training session with 10 people, 3 of them had had their laptop "tampered" over the last few months during travel. *thats* the way to do a targeted attack :)

Not sure it helps the argument, but I know Intel, AMD and NVIDIA decap the silicon die on batches and scan it using a powerful microscope. It's not foolproof, but at least they're aware of this potential supply chain issue.

I think it gets better than that. I've been working a lot with US and UK governments, and now "must have LVFS support" is in a lot of purchasing requirements. Dell and Lenovo pushed all their suppliers to support it, and now Google is doing the same.

Christian is my boss at Red Hat, so this felt great to hear. I really don't think Red Hat get enough credit for all this work we've been allowed to do over the last 4 years.

There's a lot happening behind the scenes. They'll be more announcements in the next few months, but nothing I can share at the moment.

I spend most of my day writing emails. Ask me instead to write to a email to a hardware vendor and convince them to use the LVFS!

There are 2 reasons I don't work for any of the FAANG companies:
* I want to work 99% at home, with a few weeks of travel at most a year.
* I don't want to have an interview where I have to implement QuickSort in Javascript on a whiteboard.
There's more to life than money.

They broke "API" and now have this syntax to specify AND LATER if I remember correctly. AppStream supports only the "old API" and if you use the later grammar version converts it to the old syntax.
