“In 1906, there were a few hundred folks gathered at the Apostolic Faith Mission in Los Angeles. By 2020, the number of Pentecostal believers hit more than half a billion worldwide” This essay is why you need to read @DavidAFrench every week. frenchpress.thedispatch.com/p/satanic-preg…

@DavidAFrench I grew up pentacostal and have never seen an accurate depiction of christian faith I believed in in western culture generally. Ive always had to tell ppl there's this other christianity. Unless you're in it, it's definitely weird looking

Thank you for this. I have family members who joined a Pentacostal Church when I was in my young teens, and I would go along from time to time. Never developed an attraction for the style, but French's article gives me a much clearer understanding of its foundation.

I would hope apostolic Christians are just those that adhere to the Bible a little stronger than some churches. They have NO DIFFERENT COMMANDS & if they do they have made them uo which God declares a nono! I don't want to hear any crap that isn't the same as other Christians!

Interesting piece, she still should explain her theology/justification regarding the message she's preaching
