Pretty much what we've been doing every Christmas for the past few Christmas seasons. If those were actual alligator tots I def need to know where to get some! :-)

Export controls for "safety". Not a horrible write-up here Rumble is fundamentally a scanner so has some serious (legally speaking, again this is all rly posturing) regulatory requirements. U.S. isn't the only one. Wassenaar covers alot as well.

Lots of U.S. laws prohibiting non-U.S. citizen/in-U.S. territory software dev in "cyber". Lots. Silly. Innefective. But, lots.

You could just always use the Tor browser, but, again, anything with Mozilla scent on it is toxic and untrustworthy (IMO).

big challenge is that browsers are kinda supposed to make network requests. IMO one shld have to deliberately give external web pages permission to use RFC 1918 and localhost addresses. That'd cut down on alot of shenanigans.

uBlock Origin with every list enabled and auto-update on as (most of the time) sites load it from a separate JS file (not all tho). firefox NoScript + ABE (tho i never recommend using firefox) can help but more extension = more attack surface.

Also, I never use upload/export in RStudio Server (that's what scp/curl is for :-) so it's taken me a while to get to it. I needed a "chill" day so figured it was a good task for said day. Sat under a sun umbrella on the back deck and coded Swift. Very cathartic.

So all "window ops" have to be coded up. I had to do something similar for "upload" (build the infrastructure code for that file selector upload modal). It's not "hard" but it is very tedious.

I think someone has it in an issue on GH. TL;DR: RStudio server uses popup windows for plots and for export. I have to write specific handlers for each kind so they'll do what's expected (plot or put up a save file modal). WebKit is literally only an HTML/JS/CSS renderer.

RStudio Server "export" is nearly done in RSwitch 1.7.0. That's the last feature before rollout. Writing a compatible-but-feature-restricted web browser has been a fun learning experience. Rly glad I don't write browsers for a living, tho.

Great point from James. The point extends to any important matters that might be placed in a footnote outside a chart (credit, date stamp, source). If your chart could be picked up by others, maybe stick this important info inside a crop-safe zone.

Wouldn’t it be great if churches were the last places to reopen because of how obsessed we are with loving our neighbors and protecting the most vulnerable?

(and, yes, I know the reason is that Bernie supporters want to feel like they'll have some clout at the convention, but you'd think a unifying show of force wld be more important right now)
