Really enjoyed on "Architecture Without an End State." Insightful on how to architect for flexibility given evolving business needs and technologies.

Sci-fi: *robots will become so advanced that they will demand rights and then rise up when society refuses to acknowledge their humanity* Real life: *humans anthropomorphize the Mars rover so much that they cry at its goodbye message*

Here’s what so many people don’t understand about tolerance. Criticizing someone, refusing to engage with somebody’s ideas or debate them—that isn’t intolerance. This is intolerance.

1/5 This thread is gold & I hope everyone reads it, but not for the individual definitions (though they’re great). My career involves explaining tech concepts to people without any tech background, particularly people in the non-profit space, and frequently women.

Happy ! Let's also not forget the great Welsh scientist Alfred Russell Wallace, who was one of history's great sports. Independently of Darwin, he also conceived of evolution by natural selection, and then gave Darwin his fulsome support without a lick of resentment.

So, I've read and re-read this Escapist piece several times now, and it's a doozy: There's some good points raised, and Pitts goes to great lengths throughout to condemn GG and laboriously describe exactly what it was. But. (You knew there was a but.)
