HiPOD 3 Feb 2020: The Life of a Glacier on Mars
Ice is one of the many powerful agents that can modify the surface of a planet. Water-ice can serve as paleoclimate indicators or windows into the past climate of Mars.

Programming note II: color cutouts are usually from the red-green-blue (RGB) center swath of our images. We sometimes use the infrared-red-blue (IRB).
Enhanced color shows us details we don’t see in black and white.
Plus, they’re gorgeous.

Programming note: enhanced color cutouts are less than 1 km across; black and white cutouts are less than 5 km across.
Links to the observation details page (either direct or via the HiPOD page) display all image products, including those with scale bars.

HiPOD 2 Feb 2020: Ribbons of Dunes
Our objective is to investigate any connection of changes on the dunes to year on year variability in snowstorms. This enhanced-color image is at the North Pole of Mars.

HiPOD 1 Feb 2020: In the Land of Boulders
There’s something hypnotic of this full resolution look at a boulder field within Huxley Crater. Huxley is 107 kilometers in diameter, and was named after British biologist Thomas Henry Huxley.

Hi3D 31 Jan 2020: Battlescar Fantastica – This heavily cratered terrain looks awesome in 3D, but you likely would not want to land a rover here. This image is in Tempe Terre in the Northern Hemisphere of Mars.

HiPOD 31 Jan 2020: North Polar Block Party
The steep edge of the north polar cap is falling apart. This animation shows where a section of the slope at right has collapsed since 3 Mars years ago and deposited a field of ice blocks.

’Cause I’m praying for rain
I'm praying for tidal waves
I want to see the ground give way
I want to watch it all go down
Mom, please flush it all away
I want to see it go right in and down
I want to watch it go right in
Watch you flush it all away
