I’m kind of sad and scared that most of my weekly links article are now articles hosted on Medium. If Medium closes, I (we) will loose a LOT of content, and I’ll have 404 everywhere :/ I don’t like the centralized internet :(

As a freelancer I find it incredibly hard to not feeling stressed out, managing all the tasks around my own business. Lately, I’ve been reminded about the powerful concept of meditation.

Here's a Google website that lists every flight, restaurant, hotel, Airbnb, bus, or train ticket you have received to your Gmail account. The data enables certain features in Gmail, but it's disturbing to see it all listed on one page like this.

I understand, thanks for the feedback. We are aware of this and hope to improve this soon (but we don’t work full time on the project).

And we haven't even started talking about possible accessibility issues. This sounds terrifying. Gosh I'm so tired...

But if we’d be building our interfaces based completely on Houdini/Paint API, I bet there are thousands of new performance issues coming up. And it’s just a matter of time until someone builds a vue/React layout engine based on Paint API. It just would be logic.

I mean that’s not to say this project, this API isn’t useful — quite the opposite. But to me it feels like this is used to neglect that CSS is still missing useful things or to justify that it’s too hard to implement into browsers.

I feel like Houdini / Paint API is the result of developers fighting against browser vendor makers and vice-versa with no party reaching their own goals. I see this as sign of resignation. “Do whatever you want with that API as long as we don’t need to officially implement it”…

Hey, is the HIBP Password dataset still available for download as well or API only by now? Couldn’t find downloads anymore on the page.
