Can't wait to get these back from the printers! A totally unique character card for every student in my class both in the frame I chose and the image that they created themselves! A ton of extra work but I know it will be worth it!

A2: In math I have an optional station of "Math Missions" where students can "capture criminals" by doing the task cards that came with the curriculum. A good resource, that I never got to use, and the thrill of XP makes an otherwise boring looking review a desired task.

Today Ss had letters saying they were selling insurance for our game. Pay $5 a week & they would protect Ss. At first some Ss were going to do it but when I told them it wasn’t me, they changed their mind. I like the Ss creativity but they sounded like mafia!

I was a little (read: lot) worried about how my game-inspired classroom would work, but after our first battle yesterday, I got an email from a S saying it felt like a real tabletop game & asking to start or join a gaming club. So I guess it's working!

A3: (more) I feel like I struggle with theme, partially because as an elementary teacher, I'm going all day and it's hard to keep that theme full and fresh all day without repeating. One of the things I'm jealous of you secondary folks!

Hey and friends - anyone have a template/resource I could use for a boss battle at the end of a unit? Looking 4 a way to show a health bar decreasing after students complete questions or use items. Thx!

A3 could be a pop culture theme, of props (used green table cloths and quill pens for the Constitutional Convention - simple but effective), choose your own adventure with QR codes ...

A3: I think adding music and sound effects make any activity more immersive. Takes no time and creates huge pay off.
