The last 5 weeks have been a blur. My cohort & I started the intensive course as fresh faced innocents. The MWs teaching us looked at our schedule and said we were “brave” (cf “crazy”). The MWs were right . We are all now tequila-ridden husks of our former selves.

As a student, one thing that can't be overstated (or taken for granted), is the value of a spouse who is willing to Coravin multiple bottles and sit with you for an hour debating and discussing the distinctions between a Dolcetto, Pinotage and Tempranillo from Toro.

Agree with a lot of this except the comment re: WSET treating sherry as an "afterthought." An entire unit is dedicated to fortified wines and a recent case study focused entirely on the sherry market. is definitely doing their part in education.

You should see the size of the books Jonathan has to study - they are 3 inches thick. He spent 10 hours a day recently revising for a Level 3 and wants to do At 38, he's changed direction completely and has to start at the bottom -if he's happy, so am I.😍😍
