I really want to write a cozy mystery. I grew up reading Nancy Drew and I want to create something that stays with someone the way those books stayed with me.

I’d love to write satire as good Evelyn Waugh, P.G Wodehouse, Flann O’Brien or Tom Sharpe.

the real writer's initiation is getting stopped at the airport because your suitcase is over the weight limit and having airport security open it up and judge you for hauling twenty pounds worth of books

Yep. Usually I try skimming what I previously wrote, go over my outline and notes again, do a bit more research... If still stuck? My WIP in progress is telling me to take a break. I will read a book or watch a movie my genre & wait for inspiration to strike. You?

So often!!!! It depends. If I’m burnt out, I take a break, at least from that piece. Otherwise, I push through with some sprints if it’s a first draft.

Gateway desktop computer, initially (circa 2001). Now it's all backed up, rewritten, edited, etc on a laptop.
