CCing here because "turn hardening" has been a debate where a lot of people with Ring front door cameras have claimed to be experts on whether safety design changes are "working."

When the mayor sees as a sporadic "Mayor Bowser presents" festival, and not as a routine opportunity for people to spread out — of course she would have this concern. How do we make open streets a normal thing? Make it a normal thing, not a spectacle.

Isn’t that great. While walking this morning on a narrow sidewalk had a guy whip around the corner on his bike and brush past me while snorting like a charging rhino. Of course no mask either.

I'd suggest that rather than 'open streets festival' a better model might be 'safe accommodations for coronavirus'—create a temporary alternative for space that's 'blocked' by people who might get you sick—except that DC frankly isn't very good at that, either….

I was too busy paying attention to the SB driver running the red light that I didn’t even notice the NB driver doing the same until I rewatched the video

thanks for shepherding the Transportation Benefits Equity Amendment Act of 2019. We must continue to push employers to promote cleaner modes of transportation for their workers. This bill gives them that opportunity!

By the way: this is a HUGE thing to look for when cuts $600M from current FY2020 and sends in leaner FY2021 proposal to in May.
