Kids can teach school themselves Kids have a very natural tendency see to explore and to learn. It is just that we adults destroy that the moment our kids go to school as we force them to sit still and listen only in 45min intervals and for 4-6 repetitions a day.

School is Dead Ok, not school itself. School is the most important thing in our society that shapes the future of our kids and hence the future of humanity. Unfortunately, the school system is broke. It is over 150 years old and it is time for a big revamp.

The 6 y.o. just wandered by singing a little Mandarin song he'd invented, "很好 很好 很好" "Hěn hǎo Hěn hǎo Hěn hǎo" (Very good Very good Very good)

/ crowd: How do you answer the question, "Are you ready for back to school?" I was asked this in the grocery store with my 3 y/o. I told them she's too young for school. But now I'm thinking, "We home educate year-round," or similar.

The best thing I ever did for my kids' literacy was/is to keep subtitles TV on. As their taste in shows grow up, their reading ability grows up. My newly-six-year-old, Cuinn, who hasn't liked reading books for the last year, is an excellent reader.

What outcomes will be used to determine whether to forbid ? And who gets to define success? My bet is that regulators would focus on standardized test scores.
