Skis off, snow chains on! It's amazing what mountains can do, finding the motivation to tackle 6 steep kilometres on already exhausted legs was easy. Dragging myself out for dark, urban pavement-pounding back home - that's the really hard bit...

The today in the haze. Supposed to the fictional hill in the Englishman who went up a hill and came down a mountain.

Anyone got any recommendations for waterproof trousers? It's for mandatory kit list but hoping to not use them much. So. Needs to have taped seams, cheap and lightweight as I'll be carrying them for a long time.

For the first time I’ve actually tapered for the race. Unfortunately, that taper just consisted of me not running for a week. Can’t say I’m the fittest I’ve ever been but at least I’ve learned some lessons about rest... (hopefully)

I’m so cross with these poles 😡 they are my second pair from replacing the first that had EXACTLY the same issue within one or two uses. The button fails and the pole becomes useless! I can’t rely on this kit in the UK let alone the Alps!

Last run of the year completed this morning, pushed my recorded total to over 300 miles - many of them were spent with my buddy by my side 🐺

Over 300 summits & I am finally starting to think that maybe...just maybe... 🤣 Five years ago I was a total non-runner in her 40's -follow your dreams because you never know what you can achieve until you try!

My current foot injury has halted my training plans so re-evaluating races for 2019. Really struggling to find a suitable race to attempt my first 50 miler. They're either too early in the year or have crazy elevation. Anyone got any suggestions?

Someone posted recently about their favourite stile. This is mine, on the way down from Knowl Hill over to Greenbooth, Lancashire. Adore the view!
