If you try to help a cross the road... 🐢 pick it up w/ both hands with head facing away from you. 🐢 Do NOT pick up a turtle by its tail. 🐢 For snapping turtles, nudge it along or grab by the back legs. 🐢 only move the turtle in the direction it was already moving.

Saved this little guy the other day. Found my cat playing with him in my driveway ( don’t worry she didn’t hurt him) I let him go in a lake in my neighborhood.🐢🐢🙂

there's a species of with the scientific name C. elegans (Nubian flapshell turtle; Cyclanorbis elegans). seems like this could lead to confusion/hilarity during an evolutionary biology talk on these organisms 😆
