Summertime is hot and humid where I am, so I am all about vacations to the beach! I also enjoy hanging out by the pool.

A3: I head for a park with lots of big trees and snooze in the shade or people watch, or to a fountain to splash myself (fountains in Nice, and the perfect umbrella pine to sleep under in Cannes)

A4. I don't travel much in the summer as the is too much fun to be had at home. When I do it hard to be my beach umbrella, a bathing suit and a maxi dress. For years the same dress showed up in photos from every trip I took.

A2: Now I'm living in a cooler part of Australia, it means getting out and enjoying it. Living in South Australia, it meant hiding inside.

Don't ever visit DC in the summer. You'll get the heat with an amazing dose of humidity.

A2: Summer to me is checking the forecast regularly to make sure there are no 40C+ days, so I can avoid going outside, in advance, lol

A3. Get out at sunrise or closer to dusk to explore outdoor sites, save museums and other indoor sites for the heat of the day when you need to cool down. Bring a reusable water bottle and keep filling it. Watch the alcohol consumption, including the night before.

Will have to organise a visit to Warsaw as it is sadly missing from the European cities on my blog. Been to Bydgozcz and Torun but not Warsaw. Indeed I need to visit Poland more

Looking forward to a cracking tomorrow. We love Scotland and have just returned from a week of surprisingly good weather, great food (and drink) and some terrific landscapes. Questions posted on GlobalGrapevine

A1: In the UK it is Whitsand Bay in south-east Cornwall where we spent many a summer evening on the sands there as a family. Abroad it is Biarritz in south-west France; just loved the summer vibe
