While it was nice to find out what happened to the original crew after The Love Boat ended, bringing them on Love Boat: The Next Wave was a mistake. Just made their crew seem even more forgettable. Guess that's why the show bombed.

It aired on Saturdays against (ABC) and (CBS). The two-hour pilot movie (where the lead characters teamed up for the first time) was shown 4th in the USA(!). It was shown 1st in Ireland (October 1985), and in the UK (March 1986), to launch the series.
