Quick inspection in Rutland today for an insurance report. We thatched this old pub 5 1/2 years ago, straight after the youngest was born. Hasn’t moved an inch and great to have a catch up with the client.

Stooking sheaves of thatching straw, Birdsedge, West Yorkshire, Sept 2020. One field, four people, one day to reap, bind & stook. Though they often have to be rebuilt having blown over during the two weeks they should take to dry.
