Don’t tell anyone - but today between classes I got to spend 3 minutes laughing with some teacher buds in the hallway. The stars aligned and we had all snuck out of our covid lecturns for coffee, bathrooms, or a leg stretch. It was the best 3 minutes of the term.

Today, I’m teaching students to analyze their problems. I think we all need a dose of “How big is my problem” before we react and a lesson on how to do it appropriately.

My students have been using a virtual word wall that I created to help them with their writing. Today a student randomly just thanked me and I said, “For what?” She said, “For making this for us, it’s fun to use.” 🥺♥️

Running into other teachers and parents at the store used to be fun. Now it's an anxiety booster as we share the common threads between covid cases and our classrooms. When you go for milk and eggs but need a 12 pack after speaking with 2 colleagues. Covid gossip.

Missing this annual event but for now I’m thankful for those moments of connection in remote teaching. I get so excited when a student feels comfortable enough to turn their camera on!

When your first graders start a story about their life with “A long time ago” 😳A long time ago for me is when I was their age 🙅🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️. . .
