Needed to go gorilla when filming in storm Denis. Light gear, warm clothes & wellies were my best friends...& of course patience - you gotta grab those windows of calm & decent light 💡🎥🎬 ‘The Coves’ micro-film coming soon

Managed a window in storm Denis to film in the ancient caves of east Sutherland, Scotland with a local expert - this cave outside Brora is full of old merchant & apotropaic marks, including anti-witch symbols! Micro-film to follow soon

I've been looking through some old photographs during this terrible period of weather, this one's from way back in 2010 on the ridge. I'd climbed to this point just a week before and got completely overcast conditions, this time was the opposite.

Filming with tapestry artist Joan Baxter was spellbinding. She infuses her work with the landscape, archaeology, poetry and ethereal character of the realms where she lives in the far north Highlands. Micro-film too follow soon.
