I first got colon cancer when I was 21, I wasn’t covered for pre-existing conditions (2001) It came back when I was 32 (2012) By the time they found it it spread to my pancreas & needed a whipple: 1/3 digestive system removed

Great idea: before starting cancer treatment, patients can "time out" meet with primary care physician to discuss treatment options -- allows to incorporate the PCP in patient's care, improves shared-decision making, and improves care transitions
