I am sick of the argument that statues are there to educate. Statues are erected to celebrate, venerate or memorialize. That's why there are no statues of Hitler.

Sculptor Malvina Hoffman was the first woman ever installed in the Paris Luxembourg Gardens, 1919. Her legacy was lost when her statue was torn down by the Nazi’s during WW2, presumably for melting and turned into bullets. Plus, the Germans hated the Russians .
