Since the school program expired, reports that 130,000 + drivers were caught exceeding the speed limit. Speed cameras in school zones should never have been turned off and must be up and running before the school year begins.

I hear youths used to mess with speed cameras by standing on the middle of the road with a metal bucket attached to some cord. They'd spin the bucket around their head causing the cameras to flash on each rotation
