Maybe the key word here is trustworthy - I've seen lot of design processes that have been very instruction/instructor driven - and the results just as predictable

Not sure there is any direct link between making and designing on one side and constructivist pedagogies on the other. Instructionism is possible everywhere

The headline is misleading. The main point, however is, that education is not about technology - education is using tools best suited for the job and variation will help doing the job. The seems like forced tech for the sake of the tech.
