Finalising our planning for this genre’s hot task: art, high quality descriptive models and pictures matching / magpieing into writer’s notebooks plus chalk pen fun. Who said y6 writing lessons were boring 😏☺️

Year 1 children have been doing some work around setting descriptions this afternoon. We read an extract from Roald Dahl’s book Fantastic Mr Fox and then using the description we drew Mr Fox’s home.

Really proud of my Y6s and their descriptive writing. We used an idea I saw on here (can’t remember who from, sorry) and followed DASH to organise our ideas and create an exciting setting description. The children were so proud of their work!
