We discussed Restorative Justice in schools. Children are never “discipline problems.” Children are children whom have been conditioned to act and react as a reflection of their circumstances. As Ts we must see beyond this.

Why do we keep practices we know do not work for our Ss? Tradition is killing our now. What worked in the past is not going to benefit our future. I used to rock a denim jacket in ‘05. It would look awkward today on a grown man. We do and must grow.

Look past behaviors, get to know Ss on a personal level. You learn what makes them tick. The most frustrating behaviors are rooted in a deeper problem. You never figure out what that problem is when you just throw the book at the kid.
