A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for portions of Corson County until 5:15 PM local time. The main threats with this storm are for 60 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball sized hail.

July 15, 2006: Record heat occurred across South Dakota as afternoon high temperatures ranged from 100 to as high as 120 degrees. The coop station 17 miles west-southwest of Fort Pierre tied the state record high temperature with 120 degrees!
