Princess Andrew of Greece, the Duke of Edinburgh’s mother, hid a Jewish family in Athens during WW2. Therefore, Yad Vashem honoured her as ‘Righteous Among the Nations’ in 1994. The Duke and his sister Princess Georg Wilhelm of Hanover attended the ceremony.
