Lake of Glass was one of my favorite spots on the hike up to Sky Pond. Such a lovely alpine lake!

Trail Ridge Road in has reopened. It will remain open as long as weather and conditions permit. Old Fall River Road remains closed this morning. Rangers are assessing conditions on this historic one-way dirt road to the alpine. ks

One key to leaving no trace is respecting wildlife, and that's even more important during the rut, for the animals' safety and your own.

When visiting Loch Lake in winter you have to climb up this gorge. In summer, the gorge holds a beautiful waterfall and you hike up switchbacks to the right.

The elk were very active this morning in Moraine Park. This bull wasnt messing around protecting over his harem. He was busy chasing two other large bulls away when I photographed him charging through the meadow.

The Kawuneeche Valley on the west side of the park was glowing this morning as the high clouds over the Colorado River and Baker Mountain picked up the light from sunrise. With a heavy frost on the summer grasses and elk bugling all over the valley, change is in the air.
