Happiness is returning from vacation to discover you have grown a whole lot of perfect radishes. But ... now what? Pickle them? Kim chi? I need to do something with them, and possibly with the greens.

Harvesting produce from the garden is one way to make a new house feel like home. My boys & I plucked some springtime this AM. Can’t wait to sauté them butter, salt, & pepper. Also, don’t throw out the greens. Stir them in a pan w/ olive oil & garlic.

Looks like we’re OK for parsley, lettuce and mint. Tomatoes, courgettes, cucumbers and chilli planted. Chard not looking promising, but I live in hope. The famous still going strong.

Red are also known as table radishes. They have a crisp flesh and a peppery mustard like bite. Radishes are one of the first garden . They're easy to grow and their heat level is dependent on the amount of time they spend in the ground.

Quick to plant, quick to grow: ! Cool-season root tolerates soils as cold as 45°F (7°C), germinates in 4-6 days flat, matures in under a month, but stays put, ready to pull, for another 5 weeks; also stores fresh in a refrigerator's vegetable keeper.
