Let’s get it clear. There is no evidence that planning is preventing enough houses being built. It’s a myth. Hundreds of thousands of planning permissions are given and the homes remain unbuilt. The problem is in the development market and government investment policy...

'Before the last election, ministers chose 101 towns in England for a £25m boost to their economies. 61 were chosen at the discretion of ministers led by Robert Jenrick. All but one were Tory-held seats or Tory targets before the election.'

You didn't build a hospital in 9 days . You put loads of beds and expensive equipment into an exhibition hall but then found you didn't have enough ITU staff to make it work. Useless waste of time and resources.

did I really hear Hancock boast "we built a hospital in 9 days" - does he mean he equipped a hospital that was already built, cost millions per day in rent and was never actually used for patients? Just woke up....

Hancock’s tone on was telling; petulant, impatient. The lockdown instructions are ‘on the contrary’ very clear, they have been issued at the right time and it’s frankly good of him to spend time talking us through them *again*. This is a govt of unfathomable arrogance.

Waking every morning, knowing that the government doesn't care if I live or die, and knowing it wants me to be poor, anxious and constantly misinformed - is enough for me to know that this isn't my government I know I'm being lied to - but offers the liars legitimacy

website reports on Johnson's lies about poverty figures and a reprimand from the statistics authority but it hasn't yet been in the news bulletins. Maybe they'll cover it in detail later......and I'll be guest of honour at the Cup Final.

Just listened to a piece on school exclusions saying 'children get excluded from school because they...' We must turn it round and say 'schools exclude children because they...' Schools must focus more on how to include, rather than behaviour rules designed to exclude.

...The only effect of ripping up the planning system will be to allow unscrupulous developers to make money from ugly, unsafe and inappropriately sited housing. Government investment in social housing and weaker market areas is the only way to solve the housing crisis.

Jenrick is not fit to hold office... 'Property developer Mark Quinn made major donations to the Tories directly before and after Robert Jenrick chose to take responsibility for deciding on Quinn's bid to build 675 houses in Sittingbourne, Kent.'

Thank you Kirstie for inadvertently highlighting the fact that capitalism is a rotten, decaying & bankrupt system, that will happily destroy people’s lives if a few bucks more profit can be made.

As a political scientist I’m advising we quarantine this government for at least the next four years and put an emergency government in place until the next election

Aside from everything else, what a total lack of concern for the safety of other women forced to continue working unknowingly, potentially late & alone in the office, with a man accused of rape. Good luck to women in the Tory party. Your safety is clearly not a priority.

One gets the feeling that the only reason still has a job is because Cummings thinks he may as well stay to absorb all the flack, before being paraded naked through the streets, followed by Gove in a Sparrow habit, ringing a bell and intoning “SHAME. SHAME.”
