If a pupillage is due to start in “September” when exactly in September can you generally expect it to start? (trying to positively plan ahead 🥳)

Dear Interviewees, Be sure to re-read your CV before you go in. Not so you remember what you've said or what you want to highlight (although these are very good reasons) but to remind yourself why you've got this far.

We're planning Podcast season 2! Some topics we are considering: solicitor v barrister; 3rd sixes; mooting demystified; how to spend a year out; the future of the BPTC & criminal bar; what if you didn’t get pupillage… What would you like to hear?

When I was younger, I used to drive past a certain court quite often and always tell my mum ‘I’d work in there one day’. Today, I’m presenting a case in that court for the first time. If you want something enough, you’ll get it 👩🏻‍⚖️

Great first week as a second six pupil culminating in my first Crown Court hearing! Added bonus everything went well. I know it’s only been one week but I am so happy

I can't believe I'm typing this out but I have been offered a at in Leeds. This is just so amazing. All I've ever wanted is to be a family law and now it's all coming true. From September 2019 I'll be a pupil barrister.

Dear potential pupils, It took me 4 years to get pupillage. Every year my confidence plummeted when the rejections came in, please remain resilient. If you want it enough you WILL get to where you want to be. Good luck, I'm rooting for you all.

At Snaresebrook Crown Court for my first appeal against conviction today. The appeal was allowed after a half time submission and the conviction was quashed! Could not have hoped for a better result!

My Dad was away in the middle of nowhere when I found out I had secured . There was a 10s delay between everything we said. I still remember holding my breath during that 10s delay before he began screaming. Best of luck to all those submitting their applications.

To everyone seeking : "you can do it!" I'm fortunate enough to have secured an offer from an incredible set. But emails I've now had (prior to interviews) really does show that it's all about you and chambers fitting each other. Must now withdraw applications

Is it weird that despite having completed pupillage over 20 years ago and having also been a solicitor and HCA for longer than I care to admit, I feel a bit envious of all the “I got pupillage!” tweets! Such exciting times for them all!

To those making applications. Good luck. If you don’t succeed - try again. I made 26 applications in 2014 and not a single interview. By August 2015 I had pupillage . 3 and a half years later I’m a tenant.

Happy new year to all! Sadly my Christmas Twitter hiatus wasn’t indicative of an empty diary. Pupils beware - mags courts are open on Xmas eve, Boxing Day, NYE and NYD. I know. I was there.
