OK this isn't a whisky post, it's from a whisky distillery, although they are yet to release any whisky, but what they are doing is releasing gin & vodka. This vodka is a little different - this is Steam Vodka made from Malted Barley.

It’s good to encounter familiar to 🥃 aroma’s on the nose. Personally I’ld prefer it neat though I can well imagine many will like the mixology alternative as it’s a fresh, versatile mixer to suit many tastes.

A little foray into the world of Vodka and (for me) unprecedented mixology experimenting using unfiltered barley Vodka (from The Borders Distillery) that also produces whisky

Here is an interesting drink. A distilled by @BordersDistillery from malted barley with the vapours filtered through charcoal.

The fresh, clean nature of the Steam Vodka and Soda each allow the other to express itself. Gone are the fruity notes from the neat pour, the flavours and textures dominated by the effervescence of the soda and the zing of my grapefruit garnish. Extremely refreshing

I love Steam , perfect for a breakfast Bloody Mary and so much more. the nose has school glue, pineapple, coconut & pear drops. The palate has a smooth and creamy mouthfeel, with bubblegum, lemon barley water and horseradish. Beautiful!

Vodka, a galaxy far away ... for me that is. Today is the day that Steam Vodka made my heart glow. I have never had any vodka, that was this smooooooth and ended with a silky lining.
