I've had contact with a lot of tradies from many specialties recently - every one of them told me they are flat out & have been the whole time. All doing very well. They're not the sector that needs help. This latest brainfart from Pastor Morrison is appalling.

My son is a small local builder and has never been busier since Covid. And while I desperately need a new bathroom, $150k is too high a threshold just for $25k grant. Better spent on than Yuuuge announcements for no benefit, again and again and again

Public funds are being invested to create jobs and revive the economy. We can choose where those funds go, and we need to choose better.

I'm suspicious of using the term 'social housing' instead of . It shows they have no more intention of taking responsibility for eliminating than the government. Also removes the opportunity of tenants to own their home

is wrong about this. Current rates are just above the poverty line. Both major parties refuse to invest in enough . This will force more into poverty, which is much more expensive. We need an alternative to neoliberal ideology

Today I introduced a bill to establish a ombudsman. Just ask anyone living in public housing, it's so desperately needed. Successive governments have effectively left public housing to rot, with tenants forced to live in unacceptable conditions.

I have always wanted the Commonwealth to acquire all the Public housing in Australia and Nationalise Public Housing and invest 15% of total government revenue on building new housing until everyone is housed who can not afford private housing

I don’t agree with cash grants for home renovations – it looks like a building industry rescue package that is also a bribe for home-owners. Why not a major construction program that helps vulnerable Australians?

Encouraging do not 'go back' to pre-pandemic economy. That economy = low wages, high unemployment, economic insecurity, lack of affordable housing, enviro crisis. -build an economy 2 include everyone.

What about a building industry rescue package that addresses the massive shortfall in we have nationwide, instead of bribing the wealthy?
