A1 When I was 21ish in the early 90s I did a gap year in Moulins, France working as an English Assistant in a couple of schools - I turned up at the school with my rucksack and little else. Spent a lot of time travelling the region and enjoying cheap French wine!

A3 this photo was taken from the entrance of my Airbnb in Harbin, China where I solo travelled last summer. I met my roommate and host who became a great friend of mine! We had just ran home in the rain hence why my hair and face are soaked.

A1 I was 21 and I went on my first big solo trip. First stop was China including Tibet. Changed everything & I've never looked back. It was hard and nerve wracking and amazing

A2: My biggest fear was feeling lonely and having to do everything on my own, but it was actually really enlightening. I accidentally took a pic of a drug deal in Naples, and had to hide in a bank... but otherwise no issues!

A4 If I was alone, it was by choice. I never felt isolated. Finding other travelers isn't hard, just go to the tourist areas.

A2 'Fear is the mind killer...' No, travelling is generally safe... Although there have been a few incidents.... Once when I had Malaria, another when the back axle of a share taxi broke in the middle of nowhere in West Africa...
